Olympic accommodation for London 2012

It seems like just yesterday that London was bidding to host the 2012 Olympics and now the spectacular event is going to be upon us before you know it. With hundreds of hotels, B+Bs and Serviced Apartments already booked up and June just around the corner, time is running out for those who need to secure their Olympic accommodation.

Most people naturally assume that London is the best place to stay as this is where the majority of the action will be taking place. However, with everything being over-crowded and over-priced during this time, thinking outside the box can actually end up saving you hundreds of pounds and a whole lot of hassle.

Dorney, Eton is a fantastic choice for those who are looking for Olympic accommodation during the London 2012 games. This picturesque little town will be playing host to the Rowing, Paralympic Rowing and Canoe Sprint events as it boasts a 2,200m, eight-lane rowing course which is set in a 400 acre park and nature conservation area.

Those who are lucky enough to have tickets to any of the rowing events will be just a stone's throw away from where they need to be if they stay in Dorney. This means no long drives, train journeys and battling through the crowds to get to where you need to be.
If you are still looking for Olympic Accommodation and have tickets to any of the games taking place in London itself, then Dorney is still a very convenient place to stay. Located 25 miles west of London, it's not a long or difficult journey to get into the Capital City from here. With Windsor just around the corner which has great train links into London, it means that you can get back and forth with as little stress as possible.

There is no doubt that there is going to be a fantastic atmosphere in London during the 2012 Olympics but if you don't like the thought of massive crowds, have young children who might be frightened by this or simply want to spend your evenings somewhere quieter, then looking for Olympic Accommodation which is slightly out the way is a fantastic option. It means that you get to see and do everything you want in the day and then relax in the evenings somewhere a bit more peaceful.

Another advantage of staying in Dorney is the fact that there is so much to see and do. With Windsor and Eton right on its doorstep there is plenty to keep you occupied if you decide that you want to take a break from the games.
